A Ride through Damon History

PDLT hosted 'A Ride through Damon History' on Saturday, May 14, 2016, at the Damon Gun Club in Darlington, SC. 15 riders on horseback and 30 wagon riders enjoyed a beautiful afternoon trail ride through some of the most pristine and historic properties in the Pee Dee. Our hosts, Meredith and Campbell Coxe, shared tales about the property and generations of people that have enjoyed this property throughout the day. We were treated to a chicken bog lunch at the Damon Gun Club thanks to Carolina Plantation Rice and Carolina Fresh Foods. The Pee Dee Cowboy, David Grant, shared his passion for SC's State Horse, the Marsh Tacky and we learned about this great horse's heritage that is interwoven with the history of the Pee Dee. Some of the video footage taken on the trail ride will air in an episode of Horse Tales later this summer. Stay tuned for the next horse adventure with PDLT!
