PDLT Welcomes New Director of Education and Outreach


Florence (April 10, 2015)—The Board of Directors of Pee Dee Land Trust is pleased to announce Lyles Cooper Lyles has joined the organization as the new Director of Outreach and Education effective April 1, 2015.

Lyles’ professional experience spans multiple organizations in both the corporate and non-profit worlds.  Past experience includes Raines Hospitality, Florence County Economic Development Partnership/Florence County Progress, American Heart Association and Adams Outdoor Advertising.  A graduate of College of Charleston with a degree in Corporate Communications and Marketing, Lyles brings a unique mix of skills to PDLT.  Lyles is actively involved in many community organizations and currently serves on the Board of the Boys & Girls Club of the Pee Dee.  Growing up and having spent much of her childhood enjoying all the Pee Dee outdoors has to offer, she is excited about helping preserve our resources for future generations.  Lyles is married to Brandon, a Mortgage Banker in Florence, and has a son, Woods.

Lyles is succeeding Jennifer King, who had been with PDLT since 2008.  The Director of Outreach and Education is the primary administrator of PDLT’s Membership, Communications, Fundraising, Events and Education programs.   The major membership events include the Oyster Roast (Winter), Annual Picnic (late Spring), and Bountiful Brunch Benefit (Fall).

Pee Dee Land Trust has directly protected over 21,800 acres in the Pee Dee Region of South Carolina and is accredited by the national Land Trust Alliance.  PDLT works in the nine counties that touch the Great Pee Dee River in South Carolina:  Chesterfield, Darlington, Dillon, Florence, Georgetown, Horry, Marion, Marlboro and Williamsburg.  Its mission is to protect, and to promote an appreciation of, the natural, agricultural, and historical resources of the Pee Dee Region through voluntary land conservation and educational programs.  For more information about PDLT, visit www.peedeelandtrust.org
