12th Annual Oyster Roast
Supporters from across the state joined us on February 10th for the 12th Annual PDLT Oyster Roast at Hobcaw Barony in Georgetown. It was a gorgeous afternoon along the Winyah Bay where attendees enjoyed spending time with old friends and making new friends. Everyone enjoyed the delicious local oysters and food from Ryan Hicks, The Catering Company, and live tunes from The Bluestone Ramblers. PDLT Board Chairman, Ruell Hicks, announced thanks to many generous Stewards to the Our Places endowment campaign, we had recently surpassed our goal to raise $1 million. He stressed that although this was an important milestone in PDLT's history, we still have a lot of work to do to ensure we are here to help protect our conservation easements in perpetuity. Thanks went out to all the event sponsors, volunteers, Board, silent auction donors and staff. The proceeds from this sold out experience will help PDLT to continue our land conservation work across the Pee Dee Watershed of SC. While staying in private ownership, to date PDLT has partnered with 68 landowners to permanently protect 27,000+ acres of significant resources and special places our region for future generations to enjoy.
